I live in Florida, and i found several dried up carcasses of a fish around a retention pond. the fish are around 6 to 8 inches long, have a large flat, triangular shaped head, long narrow pectoral fins, large plate-like scales, spiny dorsal fins and a fat short tail. Please remember that this is a freshwater fish, although there were an unusually high amount of shells in the water (perhaps freshwater clams), and some of the flesh of the fish might have dried out. I would really appreciate knowing what kind of fish these are.
